Exploring Creation Marine Biology, 2nd Edition, Textbook
After taking the Apologia Biology course, you have the option of taking the new Exploring Creation with Marine Biology course. This text was written by a marine biologist who is also a homeschooler! Author Sherri Seligson uses the same familiar conversational style as the other Apologia courses. The course concentrates on marine wildlife and marine habitats and provides a survey of the members of each biological kingdom that live in marine environments. Dust off your microscope from first-year biology because you will need it again for this course! You will be using a new set of prepared slides and dissecting a new set of marine critters. The new dissection specimens are the dogfish shark, clam, and starfish, and you will also study brine shrimp eggs, natural sponge, and a non-living coral specimen. Some of the topics you will study are intertidal zones, estuaries, coral reefs, continental shelf communities, epipelagic communities, and deep-ocean communities. The course ends with a study of marine resources and our relationship with the sea.
